The 3 days desert tour to Erg Chebbi from Marrakech offers a great chance to explore the southern part of Morocco with its varied landscapes, mountains, Kasbahs and experience the camel trekking in the Sahara Desert of Morocco.
Day 1: Marrakech – Atlas Mountains – Ait Benhaddou – Dades Valley
After breakfast in your hotel/Riad, we will head south of Marrakech crossing the High Atlas Mountains through the Pass of Tizi n’Tichka (2260m) with its attractive Berber Villages built with adobe and stone. We will visit the women Argan Cooperative to closely form an idea on the argan oil is being extracted. We will visit the Ait Benhaddou Kasbah that has been used as a backdrop for shooting several Hollywood films including Gladiator, The Jewel of the Nile, Prince of Persia…etc. Drive through Ouarzazate, the Valley of Roses before culminating the day with a nice dinner and sleep at the Dades Valley.
Day 2: Dades Valley – Todra Gorges – Erfoud – Erg Chebbi Sand Dunes
At 9am, we will resume our expedition by visiting the majestic Canyons or Gorges of Todra to stretch our legs and enjoy the marvelous landscape. We will drive through the Palm Oasis of Tafilalet before reaching the Erg Chebbi Sand Dunes standing like an ocean and where you will experience the camel trekking for a nice journey to the Berber camp located in the heart of the desert. Dinner will be served at the camp accompanied by sometime of entertainment.
Day 3: Erg Chebbi – Nkob – Agdez – Anti-Atlas – High Atlas – Marrakech
Early wake up to attend the sunrise over the sand dunes and after breakfast you will get back to the hotel by camels to resume our journey back to Marrakech through the palm valley of Nkob with majestic Kasbahs. We will cross the Ant-Atlas, High Atlas to arrive to Marrakech in the late evening.
The 3 days Camel Trekking Trip from Marrakech includes the following:
- Private and Well-maintained 4×4 or MPV with English speaking driver and fuel.
- 1 night accommodation in a clean and comfortable Hotel at the Dades Valley with half baord basis (dinner and breakfast are included).
- Camel Trekking for a memorable journey of around 2hours.
- Overnight in a comfortable Bivouac or Berber camp with half board basis.
The Trip to the desert does not include:
- Meals except ones mentioned above.
- Beverages including water.
- Trips when appropriate.
